About GeekCamp IV

GeekCamp is the top-of-the-world experience in demopartying (read above 1000 metres somewhere deep within the Swiss Heidi mountains, go find Wilhelm Tell where and shoot an apple... or a gamer, preferable - although it would be merely impossible to find one as GeekCamp is a 100% pure scene event)

When and where?

GeekCamp IV is taking place from the 05. 'til 08. of November 2009 in the "Berghaus Birchweid" on some Mountain near 6460 Altdorf in Switzerland. See the travel area for instructions on how to find to the partyplace.
The Berghaus Birchweid is located 1450 Meters above sealevel, and is only reachable by climbing up a Rock. Or by cablecar, if you are to whimsy for that. The ticket already includes the cablecar ticket, valid for one return trip to the location and back.

Please, for your own good, take only as much stuff with you as you can carry: It is really not possible to drive to the cottage since the slopes up there are far to steep. And there is only limited space in the cable-car itself, thus it might be a good idea to get everything up and down at once in order to prevent needing an extra trip (which is not covered by the entrance fee). Another thing is, that you will have to carry your gear from the cable-car to the cottage itself. That's a walk of about 5-10 minutes.

Location

In the cottage there are several double, 4 and 12 bed rooms. If you prefer enjoying some postmortal luxury, you can rent a room exclusively for yourself in the registration area. If you want to cuddle with your fellow sceners you can stay in the 12 bed rooms for free. Just bring your sleeping bag with you.

The cottage has a really nice kitchen, which will keep you saturated the whole weekend. From Friday to Sunday there will be free breakfast with delicious scrambled eggs with bacon. On Friday evening there will again be the very yummie Swiss Cheese Fondue. If you want to be a part of that really communicative event and sit around one big table with all your family members, you have to register for that in the registration area. If the sun powers us with enough gamma, there is the time for barbeques on the outside terrace. If the weather is not so good, we will have cheap pizzas and other home cooked meals for small money. We will also have lots of cheap drinks in stock, so that you don't have to carry that much stuff. Also prepare for the great local hemp beer!

Why are we as great as we are?

Even though a location like "Berghaus Birchweid" may seem to be the most unlikely place for a demoparty to happen, it's just perfect for us: It's far off civilization with a brilliant view and an even better athmosphere. You will love it, we promise. Last times success speaks for itself.
